What is knowledge?
by apenny     Monday, 19.05.2008 17:15

Can we know anything....

What do we really know? How did we come to the realization that we can even know anything?

Believing that we have knowledge is already a relization that we know at least that. But how can we get to this realization, what's the real lowdown of knowing something.

Not even Newton was right, since if we conclude what Einstein said aber relativity then the laws of motion are wrong... and what about the theory of everything, is it even possible to find it even if it exists. Is that not a contradiction? I think so.

We learn from making mistakes, we make the same mistakes maybe a couple of times and then (hopefully) stop and learn from what we did. This even happens in Science, a hypothesis becomes a theory once it has been reproduced a few times. But does that really mean we know that it this experiment is going to always behave the same und all circumstances. I don't believe so. So basically, we are basing everything we know on trial and error?

I believe we need faith in our life, not religious but faith that certain things will behaive the way we expect them to. Which they seem to do most of the time. And do we really care what happens in the quantum mechanical layer....
